Nails Inc - Taupe Comparisons

This month Nails Inc have had a couple of great freebies, one with Diet Coke at Boots, and the other with In Style magazine.

The polishes they produce for these offers are always the high quality you would expect from this brand.
However I usually feel, although they have different names that they are just re-named from their standard line as the colours look so similar to their current colours.

I thought the two freebies I got were just re-named Jermyn Street which is from Nails Inc's normal line.

I wanted to compare these three colours for you.

As you can see I was mistaken. They are definitely new colours.

I'm holding Jermyn Street there, which is the colour on my middle finger.

I'm pleased I've got all three but clearly you don't need all of them! If you managed to get one of the freebies you can probably skip on Jermyn Street unless you're a die hard fan like me and you want them ALL!

Just for reference I have compared them with OPI's You Don't Know Jaques, the original taupe!

Alton Towers!

I went to Alton Towers last week with my brothers, it was freezing considering it's May I was surprised at how cold I was!

I hadn't been to Alton Towers before and in fact I hadn't been on a roller-coaster before until last October when I went to Thorpe Park.... I loved it!

On the way! I love this pic coz I look like a right granny driving along there! That's my brother!

The Towers

Queuing for Nemisis, we only managed four rides as the queues were so long even on a chilly dull day!

The gardens are stunning

My OOTD,
Skirt from Dorothy Perkins,
Black Topshop leggings,
Brown Zara cardi,
Tan Faith boots,
Gold Accessorize scarf

I had to change my cardi, the one I started off the day in I preferred but it was too cold!

I loved it there, I love hanging out with my brothers and I quite enjoyed the roller-coasters!

Are you a roller-coaster junkie?!

I'm Becoming a Nudist!

I do not want to alarm you here, there will be no actual nudity in this post!

I'm referring to my new found love of nude and natural coloured nail polish!

Here's my collection so far,

This is really a colour range I had never really worn before, I used to be a pink or purple kinda girl.
I think my first experience was with OPI's You Don't Know Jaques, and I absolutely fell for it. I had never loved a colour like that before, I guess that was the start! That was only a year or so a go, all of these have been purchased since then!

Do you like these colours?

Is there one I'm missing out on?

xoxo

PS. I'm not a nudist!

Yesterday's FOTD!

I'm sorry for the slightly gormless picture but I thought I was filming for a YT video but accidentally took a pic!

However it shows quite nicely my absolute favourite look right now!

I'm wearing,
Clarins Everlasting Foundation
Bobbi Brown blush in Apricot
MAC Retrospeck eyeshadow
MAC Sumptuous Olive eyeshadow
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
YSL Noir Radical Faux Cils mascara
MAC Ever Hip lipstick

Plus my hair actually looks ok here! It's turning into a bit of a mop as its getting longer and my fringe needs a major trim! I've started to curl it with the rest of my hair, I think it works!

Woo Hoo! New OPI Collection!

I got a little overexcited about this tonight so I thought I share!

The OPI Swiss Collection

This is the Autumn/Winter collection but is due out around August.

These are the colours,

I’m Suzi & I’m a Chocoholic
From A to Z-urich
Color So Hot it Berns
Just a Little Rösti at This
William Tell Me About OPI
Ski Teal We Drop
Diva of Geneva
Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous
Glitzerland
Yodel Me on My Cell
The Color to Watch
Cuckoo for This Color

Loving the teals and greens, not so sure about all of those reds I know its a classic but five reds in one collection, I thought OPI were past that!
Looks like the trend will be frosts and metallic polishes for A/W 2010, not my fave finish but I'll go with it!

I also love that OPI are continuing with the country theme of their big collections, Hong Kong, France, Espana are their most recent.

What do you think?

Thanks to Pssion for the heads up!

Cute New Collection From Nails Inc!

I was just doing the rounds of some of my fave websites and came across this new collection from Nails Inc.

Wait for the name...... Kings Of Neon!

Brilliant!

It's a collection of 8 minis for £22, there isn't a list of colours but the yellow could be Carnaby Street which is a very bright colour but I wouldn't call it a neon.

I think the mini polishes are a great idea, I have Carnaby Street and have probably worn it once or twice, although I love to have it in my collection, I can't help feeling the larger sized bottle is a bit of a waste.
Personally for me these kind of colours are a few time use and then stored nicely in my collection. At least this way you can get a few more colours for the same price as a full sized collection of four.

Stained Nails? Give This A Go!

I have found this little tip a lifesaver!
I have tried a couple of nail whiteners that you can get at salons and Sally's like Bubble White and not been all that impressed.
I can't remember how I heard this or who told me, I may have read it on a blog or seen in in a YT vid, but I have a feeling someone left me a comment on a video suggesting it.

I kind of forgot about it until I wanted to do a perfect French Manicure but had noticed that my nails were stained from weeks of wearing polish!

So I painted my nails with China Glaze Custom Kicks (I did deliberately use a bright colour for experimental purposes!) I didn't use a base coat!

I left the polish on for a day or so and removed and was left with this,

You can see the middle three nails have blue tint

Same here, the left hand had the polish on.

Then you need to get some denture cleaning tablets.

I bought Steradent, just because they were in the supermarket, and I bought the Extra Strength ones just because I though it might work better! They are only £1.50 or so, bargain!

Run the warm tap into the sink, don't fill it, just enough to cover your nails.
Then pop in one tablet.
Let the bubbles start and leave your hands in the water until the tablet has dissolved, should be about four or five minutes.

Then.......

Ta daaa!

Clean nails! This has worked everytime I have used it, but I haven't tried it with any really wild colours. I do it once a month or so now anyway just as part on maintaining healthy clean nails!

I love QVC. OK?!

I know that may not be the coolest thing to say bĂºt QVC really is a great place for makeup and beauty items.

They stock some fabulous brands including, OPI, Bobbi Brown, Jemma Kidd, Elemis, Decleor, Loccitaine, Liz Earle, Smashbox, Philosophy and Nails Inc, those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head, there are many more.
Even if you don't intend to buy, I find it a great source of information as they usually have a representative from the company there to inform and give advice about the products, I recently saw Jemma Kidd on there, you wouldn't get that in a department store!

I bought my very first Elemis product from QVC about 10 years ago and have returned to buy certain items ever since.
Every so often they feature a beauty brand as their Today's Special Value, recently Elemis was the featured brand. I knew it was coming up as they had sent me a mailing with a sample of one of the products in the TSV.

Included,
Skin Nourishing Shower Cream
Skin Nourishing Hand and Body Lotion
Tan Accelerator
Pro Collagen Marine Cream
Visible Brilliance

The star of the package is the Skin Nourishing Shower Cream in the middle there, it was a wordwide launch! It is amazing! It's based on one of their hero products the Skin Nourishing Milk Bath, their customers told them they tend to have showers more often than baths and would like a product to use in the shower. It is wonderfully moisturising and has the most delicious smell that lasts.

Another launch on the day was the Skin Nourishing Hand and Body Lotion, again its in the same range as the Milk Bath and new Shower Cream, it smells the same and has the same moisturising properties.

What makes this so amazing apart from the first-class product, is the price! I think it was about £34.95 for all of these products, if you add them up separately it would have cost something like £100!!

Heres the link to the site, have a look. They stock lots of other non beauty brands too including Birkenstock, Butler and Wilson! Sky Channel 640.

YSL Faux Cils

My favourite mascara of all time is YSL's Faux Cils.
It's my indulgence! I know there are probably cheaper dupes but I can't help myself!

I recently heard about a new version of the mascara, Faux Cils Noir Radical.
YSL say,

"the ultimate luxurious mascara for a false lash effect in our deepest black colour ever, for a dangerously glamourous look"

Yes please!

They are both the same price, £21.50 at Boots.

The brushes are very similar, I think the Noir Radical has a slightly wider brush but the both seem to be the same length. The regular Faux Cils on the left is pretty well used and the brush hasn't really held up, I have noticed that to be true of all three tubes I have used so far.

The Noir Radical is certainly darker and a true black. Its much glossier too, it has a shine to it.

Between the two I would probably buy the Noir Radical again next time. The only problem I have found is that it is so dark I find it very difficult to remove, I used to use one cotton pad to remove all eye makeup, now I use two and still have a residue in the morning. I'm not sure if this is just due to my Eye Makeup remover or not but I am going to try a new one soon. Also I sometimes get a bit of product on my skin when I blink after applying, I think this is because of the high gloss, it takes a little longer to dry. Its nothing a cotton bud can't fix!

Despite that I really enjoy using this mascara and would have no problem recommending it!

Have you used this mascara?

New Clothes!

I had bought a dress earlier in the week from H&M, it was 5.30pm purchase and I didn't have time to try it on before they kicked me out! Anyway I decided it looked too much like a pink nightie and took it back, I think it was the colour that did nothing for me!
I went in fully intending to get a refund and not buy anything but low and behold I came out with some more goodies!

H&M have some really nice things at the mo,

I looove the scarf, its linen and has roses on it. Its not very soft but I should be able to break it in! How cute are the butterfly hair slides they were only £1.99. I wish they were on a clip instead of a grip though as they are pretty difficult to get in my hair!

I had a gift card for Dotty P's and went into have a look. I saw this adorable skirt, tried it on and loved it! It goes perfectly with my fave brown boots.

I just needed a brown t-shirt to wear with it so I went to New Look,

They didn't have any, actually I couldn't find one anywhere, brown must not be the colour at the moment. I bought the stripy top as it was on offer for £8 instead of £12 and all the jewellery in New Look is buy one get one free. Not sure if that's just for the bank holiday or not.
There is a cardi there too but its the same colour as my duvet! I bought that to go with the skirt!

Any recommendations for good t-shirt shops, I'm quite fussy I like them to be tight and a certain type of material!

Nail Polish Haul!

I received a little parcel in the post this morning!
Some new nail varnish that I bought from http://www.transdesign.com/

Unfortunately I think this will be my last order from them as there is some major drama occurring. OPI have sued Transdesign for copyright infringement for using their images without permission, at least that's what I understand. Transdesign are liquidating their stock and will no longer be stocking the brand. Also it seems they are no longer able to us the USPS to ship the polishes thus really hiking the shipping costs to something beyond affordable. I'm not entirely sure what it will be as all that information seems to be missing from the site.

Annnyway onto the goods!

Can't wait to try them all!

I did a little video too if you're interested!

There is bit of a rant at the start, I got a bit carried away, I have a horrible feeling I may get my first hater comment!

xoxo
