80's OOTN!

I thought I'd share my outfit from the other night!
I went to a friends hen party, she's getting married in a month, and she chose the theme of 80's.

I did stress about getting an outfit together, but I'm pleased with what I ended up with!

I went with a ra-ra skirt and leggings, then a dark grey top with a neon green vest underneath.
Fingerless lace gloves and neon bangles.
I didn't have to search around for these items, there is a combo of New Look and H&M there.

Shoes were bright pink courts from boohoo.com.
I'll probably wear these again, they were surprisingly comfy!

Yes, I crimped my hair!
However it looked so awful down, I had to tie it back!
It just looked like a fried mess! Crimping can stay in the 80's!
I believe the style is coming back though, it was featured in the new Sex and the City film and a few celebs have sported the look recently, not sure I'll be following.

I bought the crimper from Topshop.

Makeup was the usual but with lots of blusher not that you can tell, but there was more than enough on those cheeks! Then I used lots of Lady GaGa lipstick, and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy neon nail polish.

Here are a few of us!

There was lots of neon and a few dodgy wigs! We even went to an 80's nightclub!

New Clothes and Shoes!

So I cannot seem to buy enough clothes at the moment!
I guess as I've lost weight I'm enjoying my clothing more!

Top from Monsoon - I love this it has little sequins on it and is silk
♥ Shoes from Accessorize

Top from H&M from the Fashion Against AIDS collection
 Scarf from Miss Selfridge
Both items are not my normal style but I've seen many people wear a skull scarf with 'girly' things!

Shoes from Clarks - I'll save these for the winter!

 Shoes also from Clarkes!
I'm literally in LOVE with these! I decided to go with these for the wedding I mentioned in a previous post, so glad I got them anyway I'll wear them with other things! Oh and both pairs of shoes are currently in Clarkes sale! Bonus!

Dress Dilemma!

I need some style advice guys! I know you are a fashionable bunch so I hope you don't mind!

I'm going to the wedding reception of one of my best friends in July and I have left it waaay to late to find a dress even more so shoes!

This is the dress I have bought,

Surprise surprise, its from Monsoon Fusion!

It has little bird cages and birds on it,

Cute!

I'm going to wear lots of bangles with it and maybe a long necklace. Oooooh maybe that green cocktail ring  mentioned in my Most wanted list!!

Now I cannot decide on shoes or even find a pair I like!

I wanted to wear some colourful shoes, maybe green as the dress is black and as its summer I wanted to brighten it up.

Can I find a pair of green shoes..... nope!!

So I thought pink

These are from Clarkes! I really rate Clarkes for shoes I have found some amazing ones in there and they are always comfy!

However, I really wanted sandals or peep toes, and I'm not huge fan of suede, I prefer patent!

What do you think? Do they go? Have you any other suggestions? What shoes would you wear?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hair Envy!

I hate my hair at the moment.

I am having it cut on Wednesday and have been looking around at styles to go for.

I loved my hair when it was shorter but my hairdresser has decided that we are going to grow it, which is fine but the bottom layer, the longest one is so much longer that the next layer, its all straggly and thin and wispy as my hair is so fine.

So its getting the chop!

I love my hair curly, and curl it most days as I hate it so much at the moment, curly makes it bearable!

I love watching Samantha Who? Particularly because I love the characters style.... and her hair!

To me its short yet long! Its away from her neck but long enough to style it and wear it back.

I love Christina Applegate she's so cute and I love her style, I think its very similar to her character in the show. I know she has grown her hair out a bit now and I'm sure I will too but I want it to look good in the mean time!

What do you think?!

I'll be taking these pictures to the hairdressers, so Simon get ready to chop!!

xoxo

PS Please make another series of Samantha Who? its funny as well as stylish!

Maybe I'll look this hot on Wednesday!

Most Wanted!

Hey Guys! Sorry I have been a little absent but I thought I'd ease myself back into blogging with a wishlist! One of my favourite things to do!

Dress from Monsoon Fusion

Now we all know I have an unhealthy obsession with Monsoon and Accessorize, and if I could I would entirely dress myself in their clothing! I adore this dress from their Fusion range which is the slightly cooler younger diffusion line.
You can't really see from the pic but it has little elephants on it and a paisley design. Sooo cute with gold flip flops!

Maxi Dress

I reeeealllly want a maxi dress! The one above is from Gap and is jersey, I just don't know what style to go for. I'm worried it would look like a sack, but I know that jersey flatters my figure and hugs me in all the right places! Summer will be over before I get one!!

Essie Pretty Edgy

I am so in love with this colour, its from their Summer 2010 collection and I have ordered it, its should be on its way to me as we speak! I have OPI Jade is the New Black on my toes right now and I adore it!

Cocktail Rings from Anusha

I want all three! I love them!
They are £29 though so can't really justify all three! I haven't bought one yet as I simply can't decide which is my fave! I think its the cream one....... no the green one or maybe the blue one! See!!

iPhone 4

My iPhone is an extension of my arm, I would NEVER have another phone. I am obsessed with it, I'm on it ALL the time. Its quite unnatural!
When Apple announced the iPhone 4 this week I knew it had to be mine! I skipped the last one and I am eligible for an upgrade so their timing was perfect! I'm just waiting to find out the price, then I'll be in that queue on the 26th to get my mitts on it!

Are you lusting after anything this week?!

Nails Inc - Taupe Comparisons

This month Nails Inc have had a couple of great freebies, one with Diet Coke at Boots, and the other with In Style magazine.

The polishes they produce for these offers are always the high quality you would expect from this brand.
However I usually feel, although they have different names that they are just re-named from their standard line as the colours look so similar to their current colours.

I thought the two freebies I got were just re-named Jermyn Street which is from Nails Inc's normal line.

I wanted to compare these three colours for you.

As you can see I was mistaken. They are definitely new colours.

I'm holding Jermyn Street there, which is the colour on my middle finger.

I'm pleased I've got all three but clearly you don't need all of them! If you managed to get one of the freebies you can probably skip on Jermyn Street unless you're a die hard fan like me and you want them ALL!

Just for reference I have compared them with OPI's You Don't Know Jaques, the original taupe!

Alton Towers!

I went to Alton Towers last week with my brothers, it was freezing considering it's May I was surprised at how cold I was!

I hadn't been to Alton Towers before and in fact I hadn't been on a roller-coaster before until last October when I went to Thorpe Park.... I loved it!

On the way! I love this pic coz I look like a right granny driving along there! That's my brother!

The Towers

Queuing for Nemisis, we only managed four rides as the queues were so long even on a chilly dull day!

The gardens are stunning

My OOTD,
Skirt from Dorothy Perkins,
Black Topshop leggings,
Brown Zara cardi,
Tan Faith boots,
Gold Accessorize scarf

I had to change my cardi, the one I started off the day in I preferred but it was too cold!

I loved it there, I love hanging out with my brothers and I quite enjoyed the roller-coasters!

Are you a roller-coaster junkie?!

I'm Becoming a Nudist!

I do not want to alarm you here, there will be no actual nudity in this post!

I'm referring to my new found love of nude and natural coloured nail polish!

Here's my collection so far,

This is really a colour range I had never really worn before, I used to be a pink or purple kinda girl.
I think my first experience was with OPI's You Don't Know Jaques, and I absolutely fell for it. I had never loved a colour like that before, I guess that was the start! That was only a year or so a go, all of these have been purchased since then!

Do you like these colours?

Is there one I'm missing out on?

xoxo

PS. I'm not a nudist!

Yesterday's FOTD!

I'm sorry for the slightly gormless picture but I thought I was filming for a YT video but accidentally took a pic!

However it shows quite nicely my absolute favourite look right now!

I'm wearing,
Clarins Everlasting Foundation
Bobbi Brown blush in Apricot
MAC Retrospeck eyeshadow
MAC Sumptuous Olive eyeshadow
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
YSL Noir Radical Faux Cils mascara
MAC Ever Hip lipstick

Plus my hair actually looks ok here! It's turning into a bit of a mop as its getting longer and my fringe needs a major trim! I've started to curl it with the rest of my hair, I think it works!

Woo Hoo! New OPI Collection!

I got a little overexcited about this tonight so I thought I share!

The OPI Swiss Collection

This is the Autumn/Winter collection but is due out around August.

These are the colours,

I’m Suzi & I’m a Chocoholic
From A to Z-urich
Color So Hot it Berns
Just a Little Rösti at This
William Tell Me About OPI
Ski Teal We Drop
Diva of Geneva
Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous
Glitzerland
Yodel Me on My Cell
The Color to Watch
Cuckoo for This Color

Loving the teals and greens, not so sure about all of those reds I know its a classic but five reds in one collection, I thought OPI were past that!
Looks like the trend will be frosts and metallic polishes for A/W 2010, not my fave finish but I'll go with it!

I also love that OPI are continuing with the country theme of their big collections, Hong Kong, France, Espana are their most recent.

What do you think?

Thanks to Pssion for the heads up!

Cute New Collection From Nails Inc!

I was just doing the rounds of some of my fave websites and came across this new collection from Nails Inc.

Wait for the name...... Kings Of Neon!

Brilliant!

It's a collection of 8 minis for £22, there isn't a list of colours but the yellow could be Carnaby Street which is a very bright colour but I wouldn't call it a neon.

I think the mini polishes are a great idea, I have Carnaby Street and have probably worn it once or twice, although I love to have it in my collection, I can't help feeling the larger sized bottle is a bit of a waste.
Personally for me these kind of colours are a few time use and then stored nicely in my collection. At least this way you can get a few more colours for the same price as a full sized collection of four.

Stained Nails? Give This A Go!

I have found this little tip a lifesaver!
I have tried a couple of nail whiteners that you can get at salons and Sally's like Bubble White and not been all that impressed.
I can't remember how I heard this or who told me, I may have read it on a blog or seen in in a YT vid, but I have a feeling someone left me a comment on a video suggesting it.

I kind of forgot about it until I wanted to do a perfect French Manicure but had noticed that my nails were stained from weeks of wearing polish!

So I painted my nails with China Glaze Custom Kicks (I did deliberately use a bright colour for experimental purposes!) I didn't use a base coat!

I left the polish on for a day or so and removed and was left with this,

You can see the middle three nails have blue tint

Same here, the left hand had the polish on.

Then you need to get some denture cleaning tablets.

I bought Steradent, just because they were in the supermarket, and I bought the Extra Strength ones just because I though it might work better! They are only £1.50 or so, bargain!

Run the warm tap into the sink, don't fill it, just enough to cover your nails.
Then pop in one tablet.
Let the bubbles start and leave your hands in the water until the tablet has dissolved, should be about four or five minutes.

Then.......

Ta daaa!

Clean nails! This has worked everytime I have used it, but I haven't tried it with any really wild colours. I do it once a month or so now anyway just as part on maintaining healthy clean nails!

xoxo
