I'm Becoming a Nudist!

I do not want to alarm you here, there will be no actual nudity in this post!

I'm referring to my new found love of nude and natural coloured nail polish!

Here's my collection so far,

This is really a colour range I had never really worn before, I used to be a pink or purple kinda girl.
I think my first experience was with OPI's You Don't Know Jaques, and I absolutely fell for it. I had never loved a colour like that before, I guess that was the start! That was only a year or so a go, all of these have been purchased since then!

Do you like these colours?

Is there one I'm missing out on?

xoxo

PS. I'm not a nudist!

Yesterday's FOTD!

I'm sorry for the slightly gormless picture but I thought I was filming for a YT video but accidentally took a pic!

However it shows quite nicely my absolute favourite look right now!

I'm wearing,
Clarins Everlasting Foundation
Bobbi Brown blush in Apricot
MAC Retrospeck eyeshadow
MAC Sumptuous Olive eyeshadow
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
YSL Noir Radical Faux Cils mascara
MAC Ever Hip lipstick

Plus my hair actually looks ok here! It's turning into a bit of a mop as its getting longer and my fringe needs a major trim! I've started to curl it with the rest of my hair, I think it works!

Woo Hoo! New OPI Collection!

I got a little overexcited about this tonight so I thought I share!

The OPI Swiss Collection

This is the Autumn/Winter collection but is due out around August.

These are the colours,

I’m Suzi & I’m a Chocoholic
From A to Z-urich
Color So Hot it Berns
Just a Little Rösti at This
William Tell Me About OPI
Ski Teal We Drop
Diva of Geneva
Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous
Glitzerland
Yodel Me on My Cell
The Color to Watch
Cuckoo for This Color

Loving the teals and greens, not so sure about all of those reds I know its a classic but five reds in one collection, I thought OPI were past that!
Looks like the trend will be frosts and metallic polishes for A/W 2010, not my fave finish but I'll go with it!

I also love that OPI are continuing with the country theme of their big collections, Hong Kong, France, Espana are their most recent.

What do you think?

Thanks to Pssion for the heads up!

Cute New Collection From Nails Inc!

I was just doing the rounds of some of my fave websites and came across this new collection from Nails Inc.

Wait for the name...... Kings Of Neon!

Brilliant!

It's a collection of 8 minis for £22, there isn't a list of colours but the yellow could be Carnaby Street which is a very bright colour but I wouldn't call it a neon.

I think the mini polishes are a great idea, I have Carnaby Street and have probably worn it once or twice, although I love to have it in my collection, I can't help feeling the larger sized bottle is a bit of a waste.
Personally for me these kind of colours are a few time use and then stored nicely in my collection. At least this way you can get a few more colours for the same price as a full sized collection of four.

Stained Nails? Give This A Go!

I have found this little tip a lifesaver!
I have tried a couple of nail whiteners that you can get at salons and Sally's like Bubble White and not been all that impressed.
I can't remember how I heard this or who told me, I may have read it on a blog or seen in in a YT vid, but I have a feeling someone left me a comment on a video suggesting it.

I kind of forgot about it until I wanted to do a perfect French Manicure but had noticed that my nails were stained from weeks of wearing polish!

So I painted my nails with China Glaze Custom Kicks (I did deliberately use a bright colour for experimental purposes!) I didn't use a base coat!

I left the polish on for a day or so and removed and was left with this,

You can see the middle three nails have blue tint

Same here, the left hand had the polish on.

Then you need to get some denture cleaning tablets.

I bought Steradent, just because they were in the supermarket, and I bought the Extra Strength ones just because I though it might work better! They are only £1.50 or so, bargain!

Run the warm tap into the sink, don't fill it, just enough to cover your nails.
Then pop in one tablet.
Let the bubbles start and leave your hands in the water until the tablet has dissolved, should be about four or five minutes.

Then.......

Ta daaa!

Clean nails! This has worked everytime I have used it, but I haven't tried it with any really wild colours. I do it once a month or so now anyway just as part on maintaining healthy clean nails!

I love QVC. OK?!

I know that may not be the coolest thing to say bút QVC really is a great place for makeup and beauty items.

They stock some fabulous brands including, OPI, Bobbi Brown, Jemma Kidd, Elemis, Decleor, Loccitaine, Liz Earle, Smashbox, Philosophy and Nails Inc, those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head, there are many more.
Even if you don't intend to buy, I find it a great source of information as they usually have a representative from the company there to inform and give advice about the products, I recently saw Jemma Kidd on there, you wouldn't get that in a department store!

I bought my very first Elemis product from QVC about 10 years ago and have returned to buy certain items ever since.
Every so often they feature a beauty brand as their Today's Special Value, recently Elemis was the featured brand. I knew it was coming up as they had sent me a mailing with a sample of one of the products in the TSV.

Included,
Skin Nourishing Shower Cream
Skin Nourishing Hand and Body Lotion
Tan Accelerator
Pro Collagen Marine Cream
Visible Brilliance

The star of the package is the Skin Nourishing Shower Cream in the middle there, it was a wordwide launch! It is amazing! It's based on one of their hero products the Skin Nourishing Milk Bath, their customers told them they tend to have showers more often than baths and would like a product to use in the shower. It is wonderfully moisturising and has the most delicious smell that lasts.

Another launch on the day was the Skin Nourishing Hand and Body Lotion, again its in the same range as the Milk Bath and new Shower Cream, it smells the same and has the same moisturising properties.

What makes this so amazing apart from the first-class product, is the price! I think it was about £34.95 for all of these products, if you add them up separately it would have cost something like £100!!

Heres the link to the site, have a look. They stock lots of other non beauty brands too including Birkenstock, Butler and Wilson! Sky Channel 640.

YSL Faux Cils

My favourite mascara of all time is YSL's Faux Cils.
It's my indulgence! I know there are probably cheaper dupes but I can't help myself!

I recently heard about a new version of the mascara, Faux Cils Noir Radical.
YSL say,

"the ultimate luxurious mascara for a false lash effect in our deepest black colour ever, for a dangerously glamourous look"

Yes please!

They are both the same price, £21.50 at Boots.

The brushes are very similar, I think the Noir Radical has a slightly wider brush but the both seem to be the same length. The regular Faux Cils on the left is pretty well used and the brush hasn't really held up, I have noticed that to be true of all three tubes I have used so far.

The Noir Radical is certainly darker and a true black. Its much glossier too, it has a shine to it.

Between the two I would probably buy the Noir Radical again next time. The only problem I have found is that it is so dark I find it very difficult to remove, I used to use one cotton pad to remove all eye makeup, now I use two and still have a residue in the morning. I'm not sure if this is just due to my Eye Makeup remover or not but I am going to try a new one soon. Also I sometimes get a bit of product on my skin when I blink after applying, I think this is because of the high gloss, it takes a little longer to dry. Its nothing a cotton bud can't fix!

Despite that I really enjoy using this mascara and would have no problem recommending it!

Have you used this mascara?

New Clothes!

I had bought a dress earlier in the week from H&M, it was 5.30pm purchase and I didn't have time to try it on before they kicked me out! Anyway I decided it looked too much like a pink nightie and took it back, I think it was the colour that did nothing for me!
I went in fully intending to get a refund and not buy anything but low and behold I came out with some more goodies!

H&M have some really nice things at the mo,

I looove the scarf, its linen and has roses on it. Its not very soft but I should be able to break it in! How cute are the butterfly hair slides they were only £1.99. I wish they were on a clip instead of a grip though as they are pretty difficult to get in my hair!

I had a gift card for Dotty P's and went into have a look. I saw this adorable skirt, tried it on and loved it! It goes perfectly with my fave brown boots.

I just needed a brown t-shirt to wear with it so I went to New Look,

They didn't have any, actually I couldn't find one anywhere, brown must not be the colour at the moment. I bought the stripy top as it was on offer for £8 instead of £12 and all the jewellery in New Look is buy one get one free. Not sure if that's just for the bank holiday or not.
There is a cardi there too but its the same colour as my duvet! I bought that to go with the skirt!

Any recommendations for good t-shirt shops, I'm quite fussy I like them to be tight and a certain type of material!

Nail Polish Haul!

I received a little parcel in the post this morning!
Some new nail varnish that I bought from http://www.transdesign.com/

Unfortunately I think this will be my last order from them as there is some major drama occurring. OPI have sued Transdesign for copyright infringement for using their images without permission, at least that's what I understand. Transdesign are liquidating their stock and will no longer be stocking the brand. Also it seems they are no longer able to us the USPS to ship the polishes thus really hiking the shipping costs to something beyond affordable. I'm not entirely sure what it will be as all that information seems to be missing from the site.

Annnyway onto the goods!

Can't wait to try them all!

I did a little video too if you're interested!

There is bit of a rant at the start, I got a bit carried away, I have a horrible feeling I may get my first hater comment!

Obsessed! Essie Resort Collection

I have been checking this collection out online this week and have become totally fixated with this set of colours!

If it wasn't clear already I cannot wait for the summer and I love nothing more that planning, dreaming about and going on holiday!

Essie's Resort collection is PERFECT for me! It encapsulates two of the things I love! Nail varnish and holidays! Just the name of the collection makes me think of this,

Yes Please!

The collection is now available at various online stores (not seen in the UK yet though boo!) I have ordered mine from transdesign.com.

Turquoise and Caicos

Playa Del Platinum

Splash of Grenadine

Lapis of Luxury

I have to admit although I love the WHOLE collection I have only ordered Lapis of Luxury. I felt I have similar colours to the others in my collection and from swatches that I have seen Turquoise and Caicos looks very simliar to my polish of the moment Nails Inc's Spring Mews. All Lacquered Up has the best swatches I've seen, peep em here!

What do you think of the collection? Will you be getting any?

Most Wanted!

I thought I'd share some of the things I've been lusting after this week!

I'm totally in summer mode at the mo, I cannot wait to pretend I'm walking along the beach on a Greek Island from my back garden!

The nail colours are from the new OPI Shrek Forever collection, the blue is What's With The Cattitude and the purple is Rumples Wiggin.
The Nails Inc one is a crystal covered Caviar Topcoat, I looove the packaging and the topcoat is really good too!

Now these are all within the realms of possibility on payday, my next item however is total fantasy and hopefully I will own it one day!

Ahhh, the colour is beautiful and the style a future classic!
But at £695 it won't be making it to my arm any time soon!

xoxo

NOTD - Nails Inc Spring Mews

My absolute favourite polish at the moment!
Picture is a bit blurry, sorry! Haven't quite got the hang of close ups yet!

Summer Nail Varnish

If you couldn't tell already I'm very much looking forward to the summer, don't get me wrong I love a bit of minus temperatures and snow but I hate the bit between freezing winter and hot summer!

I love that this years trends are for bright, happy colours. Not only in clothes and accessories but for cosmetics and nail varnish too. Pastels and Ice Cream shades will be everywhere, luckily I already have a few in my collection! That won't stop me feeding my addiction for more!!

These are the nail polishes that I will be reaching for this summer, although I wouldn't restrict myself to just wearing them during the warmer months they are all wonderful colours for all year round!

One of the biggest trends this summer will be for minty green and turquoise nails. Chanel are about the launch a polish in this shade for their summer cosmetics line, its bound to sell out and be a cult colour.

These are some of the colours from my collection.
Cornflower blue is such a pretty colour and OPI's No Room For The Blues fits the bill perfectly. Orly have their own called Snowcone and will certainly be purchasing that one soon!

Another hot colour will be peach and hot corals. We have already seen MAC's Ripe Peach blusher sell out and their Ever Hip lipstick is flying off the shelves.

Essie featured peach in one of their most recent collections with Tart Deco, as did China Glaze with Peachy Keen. I have already worn the latter and had many people ask me if I was ready for spring, its funny how colours conjure up an image in peoples minds!

Personally I am still a fan of the natural, taupey colours that were around this winter. I still Love OPI's YDKJ but I am favouring a lighter shade for the spring

Butter LONDON's Fash Pack will be on my nails this spring/summer, it has a beautiful gold shimmer in it which you can just see in the picture.

Who doesn't love a nice pink?!

I am loving the creamy pastel pinks from Nails Inc, they remind me of English summer gardens with roses! Then the hot, holiday pink of OPI's Shorts Story all ways looks fab but particularly with a tan and pretty white skirt!

Wow! This picture makes me smile!

Do you have a favourite polish for the summer?

New Clothes!

I have recently lost some weight and I am finding that a lot of my clothes are too baggy, the perfect excuse to go and do a bit of shopping!
I'm sure you'll agree that your wardrobe takes years to grow and accumulate and I can't afford to go out and replace the whole lot! A lot of my clothes are from Monsoon, I have loads of skirts from there and they aren't cheap to buy in the first place so I am going to get a few of them altered to fit rather than re-buying everything! Anyway I digress, most shops will have their Spring/Summer lines out by now and unfortunately it just isn't warm enough here yet to go without tights or leggings or without a cardi and some days without a coat! Another month or so and it will be lovely.

I didn't have much choice but to buy summery items, never-mind maybe the summer will get here quicker and I hear its going to be a hot one!

My favourite shops are Monsoon, Zara, H&M and Laura Ashley. I don't have a Zara in my local town so I have to plan a big trip to go to one. Its big deal for me too as things used to be a little tight for me in there, now I can breeze in and pick anything up!
However I am having a bit of a crisis with deciding what I want to wear, really I'm a skirt and a top kinda girl and I wear scarves and accessories to jazz it up and I can't seem to break away from that style, maybe I don't really want to.... anyway I'm jabbering!
Let me show you what I bought this weekend!

I always come out of Zara with a scarf! I love theirs, they are so soft and light, this one is a perfect summer scarf. Wicker bags are my summer obsession and this little clutch bag was really cute, I got the last white one but they have it in black too and it was a good price, £9.99.

Pretty summery huh! I love white skirts in the summer, you can't really see but its a broderie anglaise fabric which is gorgeous. I love the colour of the cami, I though it would be nice with my new Zara scarf and my new Nails Inc Spring Mews nail polish! The flip flops are so me! Gold, flat and Swarovski crystals LOVE!

I thought I'd better buy something  can wear now so the cardi is perfect, I love the lacey bib! I have the taupey top in red already, it was only £7.99!

I got this Ri2k bag from John Lewis, it had 20% off for that day. I love Ri2k bags they are such good quality they are higher priced for the high street but not out of reach this one was £75 but I got it for £60. I needed a smaller bag for the days when you don't need your whole life in your handbag! The only thing I'm nervous of is that its a cross body bag which tend to hurt my shoulder if I put too much in. Still I LOVE the colour!

I tried on this tea dress in Monsoon but it was too big so I have ordered a smaller one but it hasn't arrived yet. Can't wait for it to come! I'll wear it with leggings and a cardi for now!

No more shopping for me for a while, I'll wait until Monsoon bring out some more of their summer collection!

What will you be wearing this summer?

NOTD - Nails Inc Apple Tree Yard

A khaki green cream, it's a very interesting colour.
I have nothing similar to this in my collection.
As with all Nails Inc it's wearing well and is still glossy after a few days!

Nails Inc - Ice Cream Collection

The postie brought me a lovely little present today to cheer me up on a rainy day! Nails Inc have brought out their newest colours in the Ice Cream Collection.

Ice cream colours and pastels are going to be BIG this summer, Barry M have new colours on their website, Illamasqa are releasing a similar collection and Orly have recently brought out their Sweet range.

My love for Nails Inc meant I would wait for them to release a similar collection!

The first colour in the box is the one I wanted most from this set. I had seen it briefly on the Nails Inc website a while ago then it mysteriously disappeared. Spring Mews is the hottest colour for the summer and a colour that you will find a lot of brands copying soon!

I received an email from Elle magazine today and they chose this colour as one of the most fashionable colours to wear this summer - here's the link. I have ordered a dress from Monsoon that will go perfectly with this!

Maple Street is a lovely creamy pink. It looks like strawberry ice cream or those shrimp penny sweets I used to eat as a child!

Devonshire Row is a rich creamy purple, I haven't seen an ice cream this colour and I'm glad I haven't! Its a light purple different to some of the other purples I collected over the winter!

Strawberry Hill is a hot but slightly muted pink. It's vibrant but subtle, I love it. It would be my favourite after Spring Mews.

I am so pleased with this collection, I bought a pastel set last year but didn't get much of a chance to wear them. I really feel I'll wear these a lot, I can see me having Spring Mews on my toes and one of the pinks on my hands or vice versa!

I bought the set from nailsinc.com and it cost £20.00.

xoxo
